Hogs
Heritage Breed Hogs
We generally raise Tamworth hogs (or Tamworth crosses), which is a heritage breed tradition to North Carolina around the turn of the 20th century. On rotational pastures, our hogs have plenty of opportunity to root and play. We will also move the hogs through a new garden or brushy area that we are intending to plant to pasture; they “till” and fertilize prior to being moved off for the area to be planted to garden again or seeded. The hogs are also fed a vegetable based feed which is antibiotic and hormone free, along with excess goat/cows milk, whey, and garden culls.
